We connect mechanistic human neuroscience with clinical questions across four closely linked research programmes.

Action, Perception & Motor Cognition

We study how the human brain represents action execution, observation and motor imagery, and how visual, haptic and motor information supports object interaction. This programme addresses the mirror neuron system, grasping, sensorimotor integration, motor representations and learning.

Brain Networks & Connectivity

We investigate how cortical, subcortical and cerebellar regions communicate as distributed networks. Task-dependent and intrinsic interactions are examined through functional connectivity, gPPI, effective connectivity, DCM, connectomics and network neuroscience.

Neuroplasticity & Rehabilitation

We examine neural reorganisation following neurological injury and test neuroscience-informed approaches to recovery. Our work includes stroke, cerebral palsy, Action Observation Treatment, virtual reality, intensive motor practice and brain plasticity.

Consciousness, Interoception & Predictive Control

We investigate how conscious processing emerges from the integration of interoceptive, sensory and predictive signals. A central focus is how cerebellar–cortical networks anticipate errors, update internal models and guide behavioural correction, from bodily awareness to adaptive control.
